Job title: Bid Writer
Location: remote, UK
Salary: up to £60k
Vargo is looking for a proactive and skilled Bid Writer to join a boutique consultancy business. Working closely with the Commercial Director, you'll oversee the bid process, coordinate contributions, and produce high-quality, persuasive submissions across multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full bid lifecycle, including schedules, timelines, and submission requirements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Coordinate input from SMEs, delivery teams, and senior leadership, ensuring all submissions meet client requirements and procurement guidelines.
- Develop clear, tailored bid responses aligned to win themes, translating complex technical information into compelling narratives structured to maximise scoring.
- Review and refine contributor input for consistency and quality, integrating relevant case studies and supporting evidence.
- Partner with the Commercial Director to convert bid strategy into effective responses, identifying gaps and challenging content where needed.
- Assist with buyer communications and maintain an efficient, collaborative bid process.
- Seek feedback on submissions, contribute to post-bid reviews, and continuously improve content, processes, and templates.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in bid writing or proposal support.
- Strong writing, editing, and structuring skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in digital, consultancy, or professional services.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a strong sense of ownership over written outputs.
