We are working with a leading Welsh med-tech manufacturer that develops innovative products for a global market. They are known for combining clinical expertise with technological innovation and are expanding their product portfolio rapidly.

This is a chance to move beyond pure mechanical engineering and become the driving force behind the visual design and user experience of their products.

The Role: Focus on Form, Function, and Validation

You will be responsible for balancing stunning aesthetics with rigorous technical requirements.

• Aesthetic Leadership: Drive the visual, ergonomic, and CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) design of new consumer devices.
• Technical Validation: Test and verify designs for critical performance factors, including thermal management and structural strength.
• Design for Manufacture: Utilise Solidworks (strong surface modelling skills are essential) to create production-ready designs with a deep understanding of plastic injection moulding.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Electronics and R&D teams to ensure mechanical fit and seamless product integration.
  

Your Profile

• Several years of industrial experience, ideally within consumer electronics or high-volume aesthetic devices.
• A strong Product/Industrial Design portfolio demonstrating successful aesthetic product launches.
• Expert-level 3D CAD skills (Solidworks) and proficiency in surface modelling.
• Experience in designing for, and performing, thermal and strength testing.
• Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
