Job title: Assistant Relationship Manager

Location: Cardiff, 1-2 times a week in the office

Salary: up to £45,000+ bonus

Vargo is working alongside a well-known financial services business to recruit an assistant Relationship Manager for the investment team.

The Assistant Relationship Manager will be responsible for sourcing new commercial lending opportunities and managing the transaction through to completion. The role will be sales-focused but will be heavily supported by internal teams and by a strong network of warm introducers, events and the general strong positioning of this prestigious client in the local market.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve investment and yield targets, including specific fund targets set annually. 

• Negotiate terms and conditions for legal documentation related to investments. 

• Source and appraise investment proposals, focusing on unsecured investments and assessing underlying cash flow assumptions. 

• Conduct thorough due diligence, evaluating management, financial, and commercial aspects of investment opportunities and associated risks. 

• Prepare investment reports for credit sanction and ensure completion of legal documentation. 

• Adhere to delegated authority limits and Investment Operational Guidelines.

Requirement: 

• Previous experience of credit report preparation
• Understanding of risk assessment and investment processes and procedures
• Experience of analysing financial information
• IT literate to include the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems
• Driving License
