Job title: Finance analyst

Location: Peterborough

Salary: up to £28k

 

Vargo is recruiting a finance analyst for a well-established financial services business based in Peterborough. The role will be working in a small team and supporting the administration of a high-volume transactions environment. The client is looking for someone with good attention to detail and a grasp of analysis. 

Main Activities:

 

  • Daily Reconciliation of Cash (Internal & External reconciliations), Assets and Portfolio (Securities).
  • Compilation of information for daily payments and inputting into various banking and e-payment systems.
  • Processing of cheques received.
  • Uploading of files onto Bottomline (Mandate, Collection, BACS, Investor and Portfolio)
  • Uploading of files onto the SUN Ledger system
  • Maintain the day-to-day accounting records of ISA and SIPP holders.
  • Working to strict deadlines on daily and monthly cycles. Flexibility to meet deadlines needed.
  • Monitoring shared inboxes
  • Ad-hoc projects as required by the Finance Team
  • General Ledger postings and account reconciliations

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Personality:

  • Previous experience and knowledge of financial products (SIPP, ISA, GIA, LISA) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to liaise with employees across all levels.
  • Ability to work within an extremely challenging and busy environment.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be flexible and a strong team player to collectively achieve deadlines.
  • Have a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Integrity and professional behaviour must be applied at all times.

 

Education, qualifications, and special training:

  • Interested in the pensions and investments sector.
  • Experience of operational finance or financial services
  • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Finance qualification is not essential but desirable or QBE.
