You will be playing a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge automated production systems. In this hands-on role, you'll thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, prioritizing operational solutions and refining systems for optimal performance.

Role and Responsibilities

This challenging hands-on role combines designing unique components – principally the means for handling and processing individual insect containers – and integrating them mechanically and collaborating with electronics engineers with the rest of the processing module.

Given the time pressures of a start-up, the chosen person must be able to deliver ‘good enough’ operational solutions as a priority and then work to refine the system.

Requirements:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with a 2:1 or equivalent.
• Proficiency in designing high-speed automated material transfer systems.
• Exhibit a problem-solving mindset with a knack for innovative solutions.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience in mechanical systems and subsystem components.
• Successfully executed projects utilizing rapid prototyping technologies like 3D printing.
• Skilled in developing low-power automated systems.
• Competent in designing and assembling electronic circuits, electrical panels, and PCBs.
• Proficient in the use of SolidWorks software.
