Job title: Senior Scientist

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

This role is far-reaching and will play a key role in developing AgriTech sustainable insect control solutions. You will apply your entomology and data handling expertise to help the engineering team further develop automated rearing platforms.

 

You will ensure the automated rearing platforms run at optimal conditions to guarantee quality and maximise yield. You will provide training and support to other scientists and lab assistants.

 

There will be substantial opportunities for personal growth as the company continues to expand its operations. The role is based on Research and Development teaching, working with and reporting to the Head of R&D.

 

 

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve automated systems.

- Identify and refine solutions for system improvements.

- Conduct literature reviews to guide experimental design.

- Design, run, and analyze experiments.

- Write study reports and present findings.

- Improve processes for regulatory and health and safety compliance.

- Provide occasional weekend support.

- Train staff and ensure quality control.

 

Requirement:

- Must have a degree in Entomology or a relevant subject.

- Experience working with insects in a lab setting.

- Understanding of data processing and statistical analysis.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
