Job Title: Credit Manager
Salary: Up to £47,300
Location: a minimum of 3 days per week in Doncaster
Our client is a well-established commercial finance provider offering flexible working capital solutions. With broad industry experience and a diverse client base, they’ve recently developed a centralised system designed to enhance functionality for clients and support the next phase of business growth.
The Credit Manager is responsible for the development, delivery, and oversight of loan applications across both internal and managed funds. This includes credit assessment, compliance monitoring, arrears management, and reporting on loan book performance.
Responsibilities
- Approve client investments in line with internal lending policies and managed fund guidelines.
- Participate in and support internal investment panels.
- Oversee security registration processes in collaboration with legal and professional advisors.
- Monitor monthly loan repayments and produce quarterly arrears reports.
- Collaborate with the investment team to manage arrears and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems, documentation, and internal processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal lending and credit control policies.
- Prepare and present accurate loan book performance reports to the Managing Director.
- Manage the loan application process, including communication with lending panels.
- Execute credit control procedures covering agreements, payments, arrears, and provisions.
- Maintain accurate and timely loan data records within management systems.
- Monitor and report on loan portfolio performance, including defaults and provisions.
- Evaluate loan applications and conduct investment appraisals aligned with both internal and third-party requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., Growth Hubs, Chambers of Commerce, funders).
- Contribute to marketing and outreach activities to support business development.
- Signpost business enquiries to relevant external support services when appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in credit risk assessment, credit control, or loan management.
- Strong understanding of lending principles, credit frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing a loan portfolio, including arrears and provisioning.
- Proficient in preparing credit reports and performance analysis.
- Confident working with financial systems and CRM or loan management platforms.
