Accountant
Cardiff | Permanent | Up to £48,000 | Hybrid - three days in the office
We're recruiting an Accountant for a Cardiff-based, VC backed technology business. This is a hands-on finance role for someone who enjoys getting the underlying numbers right and making the reporting that follows genuinely useful.
The work spans day-to-day financial operations, month-end reporting and audit preparation. There is also scope to help improve how the finance function uses business intelligence and AI. You do not need to arrive as an AI or BI specialist, but you should be curious about where better tools and processes could make a practical difference.
What you'll be doing
- Working across transactional finance and keeping the underlying accounting accurate and well controlled.
- Supporting the month-end close and producing clear, reliable monthly reporting.
- Preparing information and supporting schedules for audit.
- Helping identify useful improvements to reporting, BI and the adoption of AI in finance.
- Board and investor reporting
What we're looking for
- An ACA/ACCA finalist, or recently qualified.
- Exposure to financial reporting, audit preparation and the ability to work through supporting detail accurately.
- An interest in better reporting, systems and practical process improvement.
Candidates from either practice or industry will be considered. More important is a willingness to stay close to the detail while helping the finance function improve the way it works.
The role is based in Cardiff, with three days each week in the office. The salary is up to £48,000, depending on experience.
