Senior Technical Consultant
Liverpool or Manchester (Hybrid)
Up to £100,000 + Bonus + Bens
Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to provide expert advisory across major client programmes and digital transformation initiatives. This role acts as a trusted technical partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring that architecture decisions, solutions, and delivery approaches are robust, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives. You will balance advisory responsibilities with hands-on support to delivery teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery & Leadership: Lead technical projects from initiation to successful completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality thresholds. You will define project scope, deliverables, and technical roadmaps.
- Architecture & Design: Design and implement technical solutions, evaluate technologies, and architect optimal approaches. You will also take accountability for technical decisions regarding client delivery.
- Practice Growth: Support business growth opportunities, including tenders, client pitches, and proposal development. You will work with Technical Leads to shape realistic estimates and scoping activities.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish technical standards, methodologies, and best practices across project delivery. You will support the securing of relevant accreditations, such as ISO frameworks and Cyber Essentials Plus, to enable business growth.
- Team Development: Provide guidance, coaching, and set performance goals for team members. You will help embed a culture of technical excellence and support clients in knowledge transfer.
Required Expertise
- Proven experience in IT architecture and designing high-value technical solutions.
- Strong expertise across relevant domains, specifically software development, DevOps, infrastructure (Azure), network architecture, and data management.
- A proven track record in a technical leadership role, delivering multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
