Operations Manager- responsible finance lender
We're recruiting for a growing social impact lender with offices in the South West. Our client supports SMEs that can't secure funding through the traditional banking systems. Our client has been operating for over 30 years and has supported 1000s of businesses from start-ups to growth companies. They continue to have a significant social impact in the region and wider community.
The role
As an Operations Manager, you will support a dynamic Senior Management Team across a broad range of operational areas. The core function of the role is to embed a continuous improvement methodology which underpins and supports the next growth phase of the business. You'll also get heavily involved in supporting the day-to-day functions.
The role doesn't require previous management responsibilities, as there won't be any direct reports from day one, but the right candidate will require the confidence to manage people from a process and project perspective. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced role which covers projects across broad operational areas including, compliance, customer-journey, credit-risk, telecoms, systems and regulations then this is an excellent opportunity.
- Work alongside the Senior Management Team and support them on operational related projects and programmes of work
- Support the day-to-day operational functions of the business as required
- Design and embed a continuous improvement methodology
- Review and take oversight of activities including KYC/AML, compliance, systems, loan administration and regulatory changes
- Troubleshoot operational issues and ensure processes are improved to prevent future issues
- As the business continues to grow, take more management responsibilities providing coaching and training where necessary
Experience required
- Background in an operational or project role within a bank, commercial lender, SME or fintech
- Good awareness of FCA rules and regulations
- A good understanding of systems and processes with a financial services environment
- Proactive approach to business with a strong desire for continuous improvement
- Ability to work closely with leadership teams and influence change from at an operational level
This role will be Southwest and candidates will be required to work hybrid from a Bristol office.
