Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Salary: up to £28k

Location: Pontyclun

Contract: Permanent, but also open to temp contract.

The Accounts assistant will support the finance team by managing purchase ledgers, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Our client is keen on support career development so will fund studying to either complete AAT or to become fully qualified ACCA or CIMA. Once you are up-to-speed with the initial job tasks the Finance Director is supportive of someone taking on other duties and responsibilities to drive the finance division forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase ledger invoices and resolve invoice queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and manage supplier payments.
• Assist with month-end procedures, accruals, and prepayments.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset register and prepare financial reports.
• Manage petty cash and daily cash flow reports.
• Support credit control, including cash allocation and debtor management.
• Complete government financial reports and compliance tasks.
• Provide general administrative and reception support when required.

Requirement:

• Experience in an accounting/finance role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.

Desirable:

• AAT qualification or working towards ACCA/ CIMA/ AAT
• Experience in credit control and bank reconciliations.
