Job Title: Underwriter/Senior Underwriter

Location: Remote in the UK, requirement to commute to a regional office at least twice a month.

Vargo is seeking a commercial Underwriter to join a dynamic financial services organization. You will be responsible for evaluating and assessing loan applications to determine their creditworthiness. You will play a crucial role in managing risk and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess loan applications to determine creditworthiness and risk levels.

- Analyze financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions.

- Evaluate borrower profiles, collateral, and repayment capacity to mitigate risk and ensure loan quality.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including loan officers and credit analysts, to gather necessary information and documentation for underwriting.

- Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters as needed.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Proven experience in underwriting within the financial services industry.

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

- Knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
