Team Let’s Do Business Finance
At Let's Do Business Finance, we're passionate about helping start-ups, entrepreneurs, small businesses and social enterprises access the funding they need to succeed. As a responsible lender delivering government-backed and alternative finance solutions, we're looking for a skilled and motivated Lending Manager to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance, lending or banking professional who enjoys working directly with entrepreneurs, assessing business opportunities and making a real difference to local economies.
The Role
As a Lending Manager, you will manage loan applications from enquiry through to decision. You will assess business plans, accounts, cashflow forecasts and supporting information, prepare clear credit recommendations, and ensure lending decisions are made in line with scheme policy, credit requirements and compliance standards.
You will also act as a trusted point of contact for applicants, helping them navigate the lending process while maintaining excellent service standards and strong working relationships with referral partners.
What You'll Be Doing
• Assess loan applications from start-ups and early-stage businesses. • Review business plans, financial accounts, management information and forecasts. • Analyse affordability, viability, repayment capacity and lending risk. • Prepare clear, high-quality credit reports and recommendations. • Complete due diligence, compliance and credit checks. • Communicate with applicants to progress cases efficiently. • Manage customer relationships and maintain accurate CRM records. • Build referral relationships and support business development activity that generates
quality lending opportunities.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset, sound judgement and the ability to balance careful credit assessment with excellent customer service.
You will ideally have:
• Experience in lending, underwriting, banking, business finance, credit management or a related financial services role.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including an understanding of SME accounts and cashflow.
• The ability to assess risk and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases at once.
• Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
We are, however, still interested in hearing from applicants who may have some but not all of the above skills and qualities we are looking for.
Why Join Us?
At Let's Do Business Finance, you'll be joining an ambitious and high growth organisation with a genuine social purpose. Every loan you help deliver supports entrepreneurs, creates opportunities and contributes to economic and social growth within local communities.
In return, you will benefit from:
• Meaningful work with tangible impact.
• A supportive and collaborative team.
• Professional development opportunities.
• Exposure to a wide range of businesses and sectors.
• The opportunity to build a rewarding career in responsible business finance.
